Crystals for the Chakras

Balance your chakras with crystals

Chakras are energy centers inside the body: you can picture them as spinning wheels of light. This system of energy centers is said to influence your overall experience of wellbeing.

There are seven main chakras that make up what most people mean, when they say "the chakras." However, there are actually many, many more smaller, or "minor" chakras. Some of these minor chakras are in your feet and hands, as well as high above your head. Each of these energy centers - or chakras - coordinates with specific areas and organs of the body which are thought to be affected by those energy centers.

The Seven Chakras

The 7 main chakras run from the bottom of your spine all the way up to the crown of your head. Each one is said to influence and regulate a specific area of the body, as well as the organs that reside in that area. Each chakra also relates to how we feel and perceive the world.

7th - Crown Chakra - Top of the head - Connection
6th - Third Eye Chakra - Middle of the forehead - Intuition
5th - Throat Chakra - Base of the throat - Expression
4th - Heart Chakra - Middle of the chest - Compassion
3rd - Solar Plexus Chakra - Just above the navel - Manifestation
2nd - Sacral Chakra - Just below the navel - Creation
1st - Root Chakra - Base of the spine - Safety

By helping support the energy in each of these points, we can help to balance our body system: body, mind, and emotions.

What crystals should you use to support your chakras?

In general, you should choose a crystal in a corresponding color to the chakra you plan to work with (i.e., for the heart chakra, you would choose a green or pink stone). While there are always exceptions and other ways to choose, this is a straightforward method that makes choosing crystals pretty simple.

Below, we have provided a suggested list of crystals that you may wish to try. Again, this is not an exhaustive list, nor is it the authority: if you do not have any of the stones listed, feel free to choose one in a similar color or with similar properties. These are just suggestions, to give you a place to begin.
