Optical selenite, also called optical calcite or Iceland spar, is an exceptionally clear, transparent variety of calcite that displays striking double refraction: place it over text and the letters appear doubled, a phenomenon caused by the mineral's birefringent crystal structure splitting light into two rays as it passes through. It is found in Iceland, Mexico, and several other localities and has been used historically in navigation (as a Viking sunstone for locating the sun on overcast days) and in scientific optics. Beyond its visual fascination, it is prized in crystal work for exceptional clarity energy, truth, and amplification.
Good for: clarity, truth, amplification of intention, high-vibration crystal display, and collectors or curious minds who want a mineral that demonstrates a genuinely remarkable optical phenomenon.
You will receive one (1) stone similar in size and quality to those shown.

What Our Customers Say
Frequently Asked Questions
Let your intuition lead. Often, the right crystal is the one you're most drawn to—even if you don't know why.
Maybe it's the color, the shape, the name… or just a subtle tug in your heart. That’s your inner knowing saying yes.
You can also explore their energetic meanings, but truly—if a crystal feels like yours, it probably is.
We do recommend it. Crystals pass through many hands and environments before reaching you, and cleansing helps clear any lingering energy so your crystal feels clear, grounded, and ready to work with you.
We love smoke cleansing—using herbs, incense, or resins—to energetically clear your crystal. You can also sweep it with selenite or set it near a tuning fork, bell, or singing bowl if you like working with sound.
Charging is as simple as holding your crystal with intention. Your energy, presence, and clarity do the real work—tools just help focus it.
We value relationships, intuition, and integrity in every part of the process, and we source with care because energy matters.
Every crystal in our shop is chosen from sellers we know, like, and trust.
And we only offer pieces we’d buy for ourselves—ones that feel energetically clean, beautiful, and aligned.
We don't accept returns on crystals unless there's damage during transit or an error on our end. We encourage you to follow your intuition: if something draws you in, trust that.
Sometimes the crystals we need aren't the ones we expect, and there can be lessons in working with stones that don't immediately resonate. Give your crystal some time to work with your energy and see what shifts.
